My sister told me today that I need to update my blog more often since reading it is a part of her daily routine. What she doesn't know is that our lives aren't all that exciting and lately I've lacked good blogging material...I say good blogging material, because I could write all day about dirty diapers, temper tantrums and Chandler's reading homework, but I doubt the rest of you out there are too interested in that! Since she is need of something to read, I will let you know about our weekend.
Nathan and I were able to stay at a hotel in Frisco Friday and Saturday night. Amber came and stayed with the kids Friday night and my parents took over Saturday night until we came home Sunday afternoon. It was pretty low-key but relaxing all the same since we were without children. We hung out, saw a couple of movies, shopped and ate--I tried to not eat too badly since I have been doing well with watching what I eat and have lost 7 lbs! I was really proud of myself; I didn't over-eat for sure and we didn't snack at all. I drank mostly water too, so YAY for me! I've noticed that since Nathan and I have been doing this weekend away thing
semi-often, I really don't feel the need to have the weekends away anymore. I really miss my kids! But that's how it goes right? You want what you can't have and then when you get it you don't want it anymore. Why are we so weird?!? Anyway, thank you Amber for watching the kids. I am truly blessed to have you as a best friend. Thank you mom and dad as well, you are the most fabulous parents ever.
After we got home on Sunday I was able to attend a baptism for two youth in our ward, Eric and Lauren. Lauren is one of my Laurels and is such a sweet girl. Their mom has been a member of the church for a few years and just recently Lauren and Eric decided to be baptized as well. It was such an awesome experience, the spirit was so strong and it was just so cool to see these teenagers make this decision to better their lives. There were tons of people there to support them too. It was such a great night. I said the opening prayer and of course thought I was going to pass out before I did it. I mean it's just a prayer, I don't know why I was so nervous, everyone's eyes are even closed! Anyway, I survived so that was good. I was glad to be able to have a small part in the evening.
That was my weekend in a nutshell. I hope everyone had an enjoyable Valentine's Day!
PS-Tiffany, I hope this post was sufficient in fulfilling your daily blog-reading needs!

Your welcome, your children make me smile.
Thank you. It was sufficient and brightened my day. I am at home sick (on a day I really need to be at work) with a problem of not being able to keep anything down...and having no one to hold my hair...double bummer. I got a good laugh out of watching Ken call birds.
